Tournaments Baja California Sur: The third and fourth tournaments of the Annual SEPESCA SERIAL 2014 were performed on April 11, 12 and 13th. One was performed in La Laguna (in the municipality of Mulege) as part of the Whale Festival and another in Cabo San Lucas, the latter known as “Cotorreo de pesca deportiva”. The main objective of this serial organized by the State Government through the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture (SEPESCA), is to promote all Baja communities with sport fishing vocations.

So far, a total of 11 winning teams who have earned their place in the Grand Final, rose from the first two tournaments in the year: Traditional Festivals of San Jose del Cabo tournament and Paisano Loretano tournament.

Here we leave the tournament winners of the “Traditional Festivals of San Jose del Cabo”:

In the offshore Dorado category, team “Los Gallos de San José” won first place after catching a 20.6 pound Dorado. The “Aquijir” team won second place with a 19.9 pounds Dorado and “Hook Up II” team won third place with a Dorado weighing 19.6 pounds. In the Sierra category, the “Friends of Dany” team won first place, the “Ru” team won second place, and “Arnian Cabo” team won third place, everyone with a Sierra specimen of 6.8 pounds! As the draw weights were the same, placement was determined by capturing time.

The second tournament of the serial, the Yellowtail (Jurel) tournament “Paisano Loretano,” was won by Luis Ramon Davis and his “Zorros” team from Loreto, with a yellowtail weighing 38.2 pounds; team Euthanasia´ captured second place with a 37.4 pounds yellowtail reeled in by Francis Collins, also from Loreto; and third place went to Ramón Solis from “El equipo” team of La Paz with a yellowtail weighing 36.6 pounds. Very exciting!

Congratulations to all for their awards and advancing to the Grand Final of the serial! Now wait for the results of the tournaments held this weekend.
